Saxophonist Sarah Markham is in great demand throughout the UK including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, as well as internationally throughout Europe, America, Canada, and the Far East. She has broadcast live on Radio 3 and Classic FM radio, performed at the last five World Saxophone Congresses, and has commissioned and premièred major new works for saxophone and piano, saxophone quartet, and saxophone ensemble.

To date Sarah has released six CDs of solo and chamber music including “Run, Sing, Fly” on the SaxophoneClassics label, “Saxophone Recital” and “James Rae Sonatinas for Saxophone” on the Prologue label, and “Simply Four Saxophones” by the Adelphi Saxophone Quartet on the EMI label.

Sarah graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a Degree and Professional Performer’s Diploma (with Distinction), and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA with a Master in Music Degree, winning scholarships from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust and the Sir James Caird Trust. Sarah was the wind section winner of the Royal Over-Seas League Music Competition and the Park LaneGroup.

As a chamber musician, Sarah works regularly with pianist Paul Turner, the Northern Saxophone Quartet, Music of Renown Ensemble (MORE), Tribune Octet, and Equinox. She regularly directs several ensembles and is in demand as a clinician throughout the UK. Sarah is Musical Director of the Yorkshire SaxophoneChoir.

With a busy teaching schedule, Sarah is a visiting saxophone tutor at the Royal College of Music junior department, Leeds College of Music, and the universities of Huddersfield, Sheffield, and York.

Sarah is a Yamaha Performing Artist and a Vandoren Performing Artist.
